My teaching is an important part of my life. When I play music I get in touch with myself on a very deep level and I find it immensely rewarding getting a student to experience this for him/herself.
I enjoy finding out what the individual in front of me needs to progress and giving him/her exactly that. This often means finding new ways of saying something, or creating exercises tailored to a specific student.
I believe that music is something fundamental to us human beings, and that playing music makes us all feel better and be better people.
It is very rewarding to transmit this to others, young or not so young people alike.
In the more than 25 years of teaching I have many times seen students achieve a level of playing that no one had thought possible before. Many of my students have won competitions and gone on to become professional musicians themselves. And those who don’t make music their profession will have practiced a skill that will be there for them to enjoy for the rest of their lives.
